Difficult and Frequent Urination
Lower urinary tract symptoms include:
- Straining to pass urine
- Hesitancy or delayed urination
- Intermittent or interrupted urinary stream with incomplete urination
- Poor urinary flow and dribbling
- Frequent urination
- Urgent need to pass urine
- Troublesome need to pass urine at night causing interrupted sleep

Abnormalities or diseases that frequently cause difficult urination include:
- Benign enlargement of the prostate gland
- Bladder stones
- Cancer of the bladder and prostate
- Infections of the urinary tract
- Weakness and prolapse of the pelvic floor
- Diabetes
